Quarry-1-a-10-x-14

This was taken about 10 years ago. It was representative of the fear I was feeling when I took this image. You see, I’m afraid of deep water, thanks to a stupid uncle of mine who threw me in the Ottawa River off what I remember to be about a 30 foot pier. It probably wasn’t that high but when you are 7 or 8 years old, height is hard to judge. This image was taken at a rock quarry in Gatineau. My son, who was 12 at the time, was taking scuba diving lessons and was probably 30 or 40 feet below the surface when I took this shot. I was very nervous, scared, actually. To keep busy, I scanned the shoreline with my camera, checking out the reflections and this is what I saw. Needless to say I was very happy when he finally surfaced. Turning the image 90 degrees clockwise would provide you with the true image, which I like as well. Hey, it’s OK to play at times...
