March 25, 2009 - my first official outing of the year. Spring was in the air and I had some time to kill before a portrait session booked for 3:30. Essentially, I had about an hour to kill so I did my usual tour around the Byward Market. It was still a bit chilly, as you can tell by the young man toting a guitar on his back. The other musician didn’t seem to mind the weather. He played a pretty good guitar. I really like the end-result because for me, this image represents the Byward Market for what it is. One musician making a buck or two, a bystander either enjoying the music or learning, or both, the sausage vendor and the long standing Lafayette in the background. This is the true essence of the Byward Market. I look forward to the coming months.
